My name is Tabitha, known in the art world as T. Langston. I come from a small Tennessee town. So small that growing up, you either played sports or you didn't. I tried sports but my heart wasn't in it. My heart was creating, working with my hands. Seeing something come to life in front of me, because of me.
Since I was a young child and because of my elementary school art teacher, I knew my craft was something I wanted to hold onto. Mr. Walker made a huge impact on my life, so much so that I named my son after him to pay homage. The memory of Mr. Walker reminds me that my art is mine, there is no right or wrong in art, and to remember to see the beauty and joy in all things.
These three things have become the foundation of my work. I first create for myself, from inspiration around me. I give myself grace while working on a piece. Trust the process, right? It's an undertaking to slowly translate what your mind is creating to what your hands can create. There is where you have to find balance and find beauty in that balance.
Through my work, I hope to inspire others. Inspire to create, to give grace, and to find beauty.
